Our Children's Programs
We understand that learning can be fun, and so can the curriculum if you
have an instructor that truly understands children. You are in
luck because Mr. Tibbetts was the Regional Chief of Trainee Instruction
and development for the Greater Northwest. His skills in teaching 3-5
year olds are remarkable to say the least. Understanding the values of
hard work, discipline, and fun Mr. Tibbetts brings out in his students a
blend of courtesy, focus, discipline, and self-respect. Since motivation
is a big key to younger students Mr. Tibbetts uses creativity in a fun
environment. We use a positive reward system that truly inspires
students to new heights. With a sense of accomplishments students
continue to grow and prosper in an environment of respect and courtesy.
We teach with the philosophy that “every child is special”, and “every
child is a winner”. Give your son or daughter a head start in life!
Mighty Tigers Program Ages 3-5
This program is one of our most popular programs over the past few
years. Parents have always wanted their children to enjoy the
benefits of martial arts at an early age. With the help of some of
today's greatest minds in child development we were able to put together
a program that meets the needs of parents and children in an age
appropriate manner. What children will learn at this age is very
relevant to their home life, mental, emotional and physical development.
This is not a program where they are forced to learn a curriculum meant
for older children with a few changes. Our program is not a
one-size fits all. This program is unique because we focus on
inspiration, individuality, expression, and fun!
We use specific teaching methods for children ages 3-5 such as:
Shape and color recognition
Memory, focus and listening
skills
Balance and coordination exercises
Teaching social skills and manners
Positive reinforcement and rewards
Individual attention so every child can participate
Students progress at their own pace
Respect, integrity and compassion
Jr. Tigers Program Ages 5-12
Parents report these 5 important benefits for their children from our
martial arts classes:
1. Our reward system improves children's self-esteem. Martial arts are
not like team sports because the emphasis is on developing the
individual's self-esteem not the team’s winning record. The belt system
is the key. When kids earn their belts it gives them a great sense of
accomplishment that really improves the way they feel about themselves.
2. Martial arts teaches children discipline. One of the things parents
appreciate most about our classes is the improvement in their child’s
self-discipline. We have a wonderful staff of patient instructors who
love to work with children, but are also very clear about limits. We
enforce good rules of behavior in class, and we expect the same good
behavior at home and in school.
3. Our activities channel children's energy. Many doctors actually
prescribed our school for treatment for ADD and aggressive behavior
because of the positive outlet it gives the kids for all their energy.
4. We enhance children's confidence. We believe confidence is one of the
most important things we can give kids. That’s why every class we teach
has confidence-building drills included.
5. We teach children Bully-Defense and Stranger Awareness skills.
Our program safely teaches practical and proven self-defense methods.
Students are given the confidence and skills to walk away from a bully
or to protect themselves from a physical attack.
Testimonials from our Parents and Students
“I really appreciate all that you do! Thanks for making Nathan's 1st
impression of Karate a positive and fun one, that alone was priceless.
He has more confidence and a positive attitude and that is thanks to
you! “ Take Care, Trissa Provost
“Through the martial arts Margaret has developed self-confidence,
balance, and respect for others and not to mention a wicked side kick!
She goes to each class with complete enthusiasm and a smile.” John &
Allison McDougall
“Our son has greatly benefited from martial arts. Martial arts has
reinforced what we try and teach our child at home. Mr. Tibbetts is the
favorite part of his whole week. He has the best manner of teaching and
seeing each child as the individual they are.” Kristi Hunter
“When I observed a belt promotion where my 3 ½ year old son received is
white/yellow belt, I was very impressed. I really liked how the classes
are focused on stranger awareness, following directions, respect for
others, eye contact and standing tall. I have seen the impact martial
arts has made on my son as he now treats others with respect, has more
confidence to be himself, and is a better listener. Thank you Mr.
Tibbetts!" Suzanne Short
“I wish my daughter Morgan had more teachers like you. It is so
important to have a teacher that truly cares about children. You do a
wonderful job I really mean that.” R. Gaylord
"My son Brandon (age 7) can’t wait to come to class each week. He comes
away with real life skills, a confidence he didn’t have before and
stories of wisdom and courage that only you can provide. I love the fact
that the children are learning how to cope with real issues. For
example, we live across the street from a real bully and the class has
made a big difference in how Brandon handles the situation
(non-violently). He has made some good friends in the class and his
self-confidence has improved. Your teaching of respect for himself and
others goes hand in hand with my goals as a parent. I wish I found your
program a long time ago. Thanks so much for caring about children and
for developing this wonderful program”. Jennifer Hansen
“I enrolled my son in Karate to help him with his coordination. It was
the best thing I could have done for him”. Gale Duvall
“Dear Mr. Tibbetts, Thank you so much for being such an instrument of
faithfulness, patience, and encouragement to my grandson Isaiah.” Gloria
Nash
“Dear Mr. Tibbetts, Thank you for providing excellent instruction to my
daughter Lily. She really enjoys your classes.” CC Heller
